Top mounted ball valves are divided into floating ball valves and fixed ball valves.
Upper floating ball valve with a nominal size ≤ DN200. A compression spring is applied to the ball, and the function of the compression spring is to apply a pre tightening force on the ball, making the sealing surface of the valve seat in close contact under any circumstances, with good sealing performance. The wedge angle of the contact surface between the valve seat and the valve body is 10 °, and the valve seat can self-lock. In the pipeline direction, when the valve seat is subjected to significant pressure, there will be no displacement of the valve seat. Therefore, this type of valve structure has both the characteristics of a gate valve and the advantages of a ball valve. During maintenance and inspection, it was found that the valve body and valve seat are prone to leakage. If the pre tightening force of the spring is increased, it will inevitably increase the closing torque of the ball valve. In order to avoid increasing the closing torque of the ball valve, a rubber O-ring was added to the back of the valve seat sealing surface to solve the problem of leakage on the back of the valve seat sealing surface.
