Steam Trap

The function of steam trap (referred to as steam trap) is to automatically eliminate non condensable gases such as steam condensate and air in heating equipment or steam pipelines, and not leak steam. Due to the function of steam trap to block steam and drain water, it can evenly heat the steam heating equipment and fully utilize the latent heat of steam to prevent water hammer in the steam pipeline.

Detail

Mechanical drain valve

Floating bucket drain valve

1) Advantages: Accurate action, large discharge capacity, and strong resistance to water hammer.

2) Disadvantages: Poor air removal ability, large volume, and possibility of freezing.

3) Applicable occasions: Suitable for large steam heating equipment.

Inverted bucket drain valve

1) Advantages: Automatic removal of non condensable gases, ability to remove saturated water, strong drainage ability, and strong resistance to water hammer.

2) Disadvantage: There is a possibility of freezing.

3) Applicable occasions: Suitable for large steam heating equipment.

Lever float type steam trap

1) Advantages: It can continuously discharge condensed water and saturated water (with built-in thermal static cooling air device).

2) Disadvantages: Large volume, poor resistance to water hammer, and steam entrapment when discharging condensate.

3) Applicable occasions: Suitable for large steam heating equipment.

Free floating ball drain valve

1) Advantages: Large displacement, good air removal performance, continuous discharge of condensed water, small volume, simple structure, easy exchange of floating balls and valve seats.

2) Disadvantages: Poor resistance to water hammer and steam entrapment when discharging condensate.

3) Applicable occasions: Suitable for large steam heating equipment.

Thermostatic steam trap

Bellows type drain valve

1) Advantages: Large displacement, good air removal performance, no steam leakage, no freezing, controllable condensate temperature, and small volume.

2) Disadvantages: It should be slow, unable to adapt to sudden load changes and steam pressure changes, cannot be used for Superheated steam, and has poor water hammer resistance.

3) Applicable occasions: Only suitable for low voltage applications.

Circular plate bimetallic drain valve

1) Advantages: Large displacement, good air removal performance, non freezing, low action noise, no valve disc gambling accidents, strong water hammer resistance, and the ability to utilize the sensible heat of condensate.

2) Disadvantage: It is difficult to adapt to rapid changes in load.

3) Applicable occasions: The characteristics of bimetallic materials may change during use.

Thermodynamic steam trap

Pulse type drain valve

1) Advantages: small size, light weight, good air discharge performance, not easy to freeze, can be used for Superheated steam.

2) Disadvantages: Not suitable for large displacement, leaking steam, prone to faults, low back pressure tolerance (back pressure limited to 30%).

3) Applicable occasions: Suitable for steam pipelines and general steam heating equipment to discharge condensate.

Disc type steam trap

1) Advantages: simple structure, small volume, light weight, not easy to freeze, simple maintenance, can be used for Superheated steam, and has strong water hammer resistance.

2) Disadvantages: high action noise, low back pressure tolerance (back pressure limited to 50%), cannot be used at low pressure (below 0.03MPa), steam leakage, and is not suitable for large displacement.

3) Applicable occasions: Suitable for steam pipelines and general steam heating equipment to discharge condensate.
